Divine Miss M, we celebrate you!

So many ages ago, in a very hot & delicious summer, a little girl and a girly boy met for the first time at a Mexicali cancha de volley ball, con Timbiriche’s “Muriendo Lento” a manera de musica de fondo, and from that day on, they decided to share their bus rides to el centro. History was made that day, a new power couple was born. As I remember that evening, while eating panda churritos, it felt as if it was yesterday, those precious moments will be with me forever, and everytime I drive next to a ‘Pro-Hogar” (el cremita), cualquiera de los amarillos (El consti, el valle dorado o hasta el libertad) o el ‘Alambritos” bus, it immediately transports me into that epic experience, it was very “Grease” meets “Los Albañiles”, with a hint of “Mujer, Casos de la vida real”.

As time passed by, one of those girls grew up to be the Wicked Witch of the South, Queen of the border lands, and Regent of the little creatures of The Mirage, while the other, dominated the Bay area as the Wicked Witch of the North, Guardian of the Golden Gate Bridge, and Empress of the Green Card Commune . Well, today, San Francisco & its surroundings rejoice, for their beloved Sorceress is celebrating her (insert your favorite number here) birthday today. So, it is my pleasure and honor, to pay tribute to her as well, from all the way down here, in this mysterious lands.

Divine Miss M, we celebrate you!!! Long live to the tamale Queen!

PS. I’m sending you lots of platanos machos de la Guyana francesa.
